Since a tender age, writing books has been both a dream and a goal. Having proudly failed many times over many years since, I can say the effort grows, matures, and endures still.

Books can be both hopeful sign and safe harbor, enabling the reader to expand their purview beyond their upbringing- little by little. One can hold a book, pass it on, allow it to age gracefully with many readings. Their pages can be places of solace for the vulnerable- safehouses for smuggled secrets of subversives. They have no planned obsolescence date- as long as there are those to read them, books enable a story to bring joy and wisdom for generations to come, long after the author has returned to their native earth.
